The Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago White Sox will wrap up a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field Sunday as Toronto tries to make a move toward the top spot in the American League East. The Blue Jays will send Drew Hutchison to the mound in the series finale, while Chicago counters with Scott Carroll. Hutchison enters the game with an 8-10 record on the year and a 4.60 earned run average. Despite the losing ledger, Hutchison has struck out 124 batters in 24 starts this season. Its been an up-and-down season for Hutchison, who typically takes one step forward and two steps back when it comes to record. Hes coming off a rough loss Monday in which he lasted 5 2/3 innings against the Mariners, and surrendered six runs on seven hits. He was tagged with the loss, and his ERA has been steadily creeping upward in the summer months. Hutchison has made 15 starts away from home this season, and has a 5-5 record with a 3.66 ERA to show for it. Opponents are hitting .248 against him on the road. Carroll comes into the game with a 4-7 record on the season and a 4.81 ERA with 48 strikeouts and 32 walks. Hes struggled in his last four outings, giving up at least four runs in three of them with an 0-2 record. He last took the mound on Aug. 7 against Seattle and was pounded in five innings of work. Carroll allowed seven runs on seven hits, struck out three and walked three in a 13-3 beatdown at the hands of the Mariners. His last win came back on July 12. Carroll has really struggled at U.S. Cellular Field this season in nine appearances and five starts. Hes picked up a 2-3 record in 41 innings pitched with a dismal 5.71 ERA. Toronto continues to make a push toward Baltimore in the American League East standings, but heads into Sundays contest trailing the Orioles by 6 1/2 games. Toronto helped its cause on Saturday, as Melky Cabrera hit a go-ahead two-run double in the seventh inning to lift the Blue Jays to a 6-3 win. Jose Reyes finished with two hits, an RBI and a run scored and Jose Bautista, Dioner Navarro and Nolan Reimold each drove in a run for the Blue Jays, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Mark Buehrle, who pitched for the White Sox for 12 seasons, returned to U.S. Cellular Field for the first time since 2011. He allowed three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts over 5 1/3 frames. Brett Cecil (1-3) earned the win after recording two outs, striking out a batter to close the sixth inning and start the seventh. Avisail Garcia returned to the Chicago lineup for the first time since April 9 and supplied two hits, an RBI and a run scored for Chicago, which has dropped two of its last three. "It was a shot in the arm for us, adding another bat," White Sox manager Robin Ventura on Garcia. "He was just really excited. You could see it in the way he was playing." Matt Lindstrom (2-2) was tagged with the loss after giving up three runs in the seventh. Starter John Danks was reached for three runs on seven hits and a walk over in six innings.
