With the offseason having arrived for the Seattle Seahawks and

McGough was the only member of the 2018 draft class for Seattle who did not wind up on injured reserve (Jamarco Jones) or make the 53 man roster this past season. Instead, after putting up decent numbers during his first two appearances of the preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Indianapolis Colts, McGough had a bit of a rough go of things in the final two preseason matchups against the Minnesota Vikings and the Oakland Raiders. His performances in those two games were shaky enough that on the eve of the season the team traded a 2019 6th round pick to the Green Bay Packers for Brett Hundley rather than go into the 2018 season with McGough as their backup. McGough then spent the entirety of the 2018 season on the practice squad. Then, following the conclusion of the season after the loss in the Wild Card round to the Dallas Cowboys https://www.theseahawksfanshop.com , when the Hawks announced the signing of nine members of the practice squad to future contracts, McGough’s name was conspicuously absent from the list. That, of course, led to speculation that he was looking to sign elsewhere to get a better shot at playing or to catch on with the newly formed Aliance of American Football. It didn’t take long for things to play out, as about a week later the Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they had signed McGough to a future contract. Thus, the only question to be answered now is whether it will be Blake Bortles, Cody Kessler or Tanner Lee backing up McGough for the Jags in 2019.
